The Emergency Travel Certificate is only valid for thirty days from the date of issue including weekends and public holidays. Hence, all applicants are STRONGLY advised to apply for an Emergency Travel Certificate at least two (2) weeks prior to travel date. The Emergency Travel Document must be surrendered to the Immigration Officer at the point of entry in The Gambia.

Requirements to obtain an Emergency Travel Certificate

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. National Identity Card
  3. Consular Card
  4. Copy of Previous Travel Documents
  5. Police Report (if Passport is lost or stolen)
  6. If applicant is under 16 years of age, we will require a birth certificate containing both names of the child’s parents. We will also require a letter of consent signed by both parents.
